How I cope mentally.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DEATH. I just bid my mid twenties wreckage goodbye and welcomed the crazy adventure of 26.

God gives the hardest battles to the strongest warriors!

Life seems like a wreck sometimes, doesn’t it? Just when you think the worst is over, another unexpected blow hits you from a direction you have not seen coming. Your feelings of security are uprooted again, fear seeps deep into your bones as you crumble, trying to make sense of what has happened and scramble to get back onto your feet.

My first life changing event came when I was 11 years old. Thanks to an airborne virus, I lost my hearing overnight. My world changed forever – coupled with hearing loss, I had a buzzing sound in my left ear that never goes away. Think loud crickets in forest 24/7 (in your ear).

I still remembered the day, vividly. During Chinese dictation class, my teacher was giving us instructions through her small portable voice amplifier, I put my ears at her speakers an naught a pin drop could I hear. Later on in the day, I couldn’t walk a straight line, due to the balancing system of the ears and was later admitted to the hospital.
